Testing my new automated storage system how to simulate a fail?

Hi everyone,I’ve just finished setting up a custom NAS for my home office, and I want to make sure the data integrity alerts are actually working. To do this properly,

I’m looking for a reliable corrupt file generator so I can feed the system some "bad" data and see if it flags the error correctly.

My neighbor, who is a DevOps engineer, said that testing for failures is just as important as testing for speed. I want to be 100% sure my backups won't silently fail me in the future. Does anyone have experience with a corrupt file generator? Thanks in advance.
