An internal IT team or security researcher shouldn't have to look for a mechanism to notify the vendor when they discover a live fraud or an incident of software misuse. Instead of a neglected, unmonitored inbox, there must be a highly visible, dedicated reporting pipeline that goes straight to an active incident response team.

Watch for Anomalous Behavioural Signals
When an account deviates from the baseline, it should raise warning signals right away because legitimate administrative action typically follows a predictable logic. An obvious sign is geographic anomalies. Something is amiss if an admin account from a single regional office unexpectedly spins up connections to dozens of dispersed machines throughout the globe. Based on that behaviour alone, the account should be immediately suspended until a human review is conducted.

Actively Collaborate with the Broader Security Community
The issue of platform abuse cannot be resolved by a single software provider acting alone. Active involvement in shared defensive ecosystems is necessary to elevate the sector as a whole. Vendors of RMM tools and professional services automation software must actively support coordinated takedown efforts, collaborate openly on CISA reporting, and interact with community services like LOLRMM. The alternative just jeopardizes everyone's safety by ignoring known platform misuse to preserve quarterly download and adoption figures.
