What Should I Ask Before Hiring A Painter In Toronto?

I am planning a full interior repaint and I want to avoid surprises. My friend warned me that some painters quote low and then add extra charges later. That made me cautious about trusting the first estimate I get from painters near me.

All Painting seems transparent according to people I spoke with. They apparently explain what is included from the start. That already feels safer than vague promises. But I still wonder what specific questions actually protect me as a client. Should I ask about number of coats, type of primer, and drying times?

When I compare painters near me, I notice that some quotes do not include materials while others do. That alone creates huge price differences. How do I know which approach is better? Is it smarter to buy my own paint or let the company handle everything?

Another concern is scheduling. If a painter delays my project, it affects furniture delivery and other contractors. Does All Painting stick to timelines or is flexibility just an illusion? My colleague had to wait two extra weeks with another company because workers were assigned elsewhere.

I also wonder about insurance and liability. If something breaks or gets damaged, who pays for it? Should I always ask for proof of coverage from painters near me or is that considered overkill?
